YouTube has become a place to distribute and watch/listen to podcasts organically, and this service from Google is expected to offer a more optimized experience. The first step for this is to create a YouTube “Discover” page for “Podcasts”.
A leaked presentation in March revealed YouTube’s plans for a “podcast page.” YouTube ‘s podcasts-only page is now live, and its existing Discover page is linked to: Trends, Music, Movies & Shows, Live, Gaming, News, Sports, Learning, and Fashion & Beauty. It looks like the page first went live in late July and is slowly becoming available to all users.
Users Complain About Interface and Design
Podcasts are the most popular content of the last period. So much so that it did not seem likely that other companies would remain indifferent to its ever-increasing audience on Spotify . YouTube has now joined this caravan, and podcast lovers now have a unique page where they can filter the podcasts they are looking for.
The podcast experience for end users will likely get more optimized over time, but some users feel that the YouTube podcast page interface is not as good as they expected. Another development is related to Google’s Google Podcasts application. According to rumors, the company will close this application and direct the entire audience to YouTube.
