Microsoft has confirmed its Xbox Game Pass family plan by announcing early testing of the program in Colombia and Ireland. Starting today, Xbox Insiders in Colombia and Ireland can upgrade to a new plan that allows up to five users to share the same Xbox Game Pass subscription.

All accounts added by the main user will have their “own unique access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate games, content and benefits”, avoiding any bottlenecks for multiple users playing at the same time. In theory, you should be able to play Halo Infinite with your friend , for example, through an Xbox Game Pass subscription .

This new plan provides all the benefits of Game Pass Ultimate but apparently depends on a new type of plan. Microsoft’s post makes it clear that “to participate in the preview, you must purchase the ‘Xbox Game Pass – Insider Preview’ Game Pass plan from the Microsoft Store”. This will convert your remaining Game Pass subscription time to monetary value, and the new plan looks a bit more expensive .

Family Plan Raises $10

A full 30 days of Game Pass Ultimate is worth 18 days of this Insider Preview family plan for reference. Microsoft hasn’t released a full pricing breakdown for the new plan, but since Game Pass Ultimate normally costs $15 a month (or 50 cents a day), we can estimate the new plan to be around $25 a month (roughly 83 cents a day).

It looks like the new plan will be $25, which is an increase of $10 over the regular plan . Although this increase is a significant increase, assuming that you will use the account with a minimum of 3-4 people, it will allow you to access the subscription at a more affordable price.

Although this subscription plan is limited to Colombia and Ireland for now, it will be available to users around the world after testing.
