Lock Screen and Always on Display Mode
The Always on Display mode, which we met with iOS 16, ensures that the screen is active even when the phone is turned off. This feature, which we have encountered on Android phones for a long time , is only available for iPhone 14 Pro for now. In the Always on Display mode, unlike Android phones, the newly added lock screen widget experience , background access and detailed notifications can be seen.
Another innovation that came with the lock screen changes was the possibility to add widgets. Thanks to this feature, which has been in Android for almost 10 years, iPhone users will now be able to add widget support of 4 applications to their lock screens. In addition, thanks to the developed notification system, overlapping notifications will be stacked to provide a cleaner lock screen appearance . It will now be possible to follow live events such as sports matches on the lock screen .
The focus feature , which is among the new features of iOS 16 , allows you to set the notifications you want to see according to the situation you are in at the moment. Focus modes, which can be adjusted according to certain times and dates, prevent notifications from unwanted people or applications. For example, notifications that are not relevant to you at the moment do not appear on your lock screen to help you focus while you are at work.
iCloud Family Sharing
The long-awaited iCloud family sharing feature for iPhone finally comes with iOS 16. Thanks to Shared Moments in iOS 16, it is now possible to automatically share photos with people in the photos. Users can be authorized to add, edit and delete shared archives. In addition, people in the photos can be added automatically thanks to smart suggestion.
Thanks to the improvements made in the Messages application, it is now possible to edit the sent message and retrieve the message in a short time . You can also mark messages that you do not want to reply to as unread. In the edited messages, information about the editing and the old version will also be included. Sent messages can be retrieved within 2 minutes .
One of the improvements in the Messages section stands out as SharePlay. Sharing files and setting up groups in co-working spaces has become easier thanks to SharePlay .
Similar changes were brought to the Mail application as well as to the messaging application. It is now possible to retrieve , schedule and enrich e-mails with more detailed attachments in the iPhone Mail application .
Thanks to the Pass Key , which is among the iOS 16 features, a new login option is offered to users against identity theft and data leaks. Passkey, which also works on other non-Apple devices, provides an end-to-end encrypted login experience.
The usability is increasing thanks to the newly added smart features where artificial intelligence is used in detail. With the development of the in-video live text feature, it is now possible to pause the video you are watching anywhere, and to copy, share and translate the texts in the video. In addition, smart features include automatically separating the subject you want from the background, live text enhancements, and Siri-specific shortcuts that do not require installation.
Keys in Apple’s Wallet application can now be shared via messages, Mail and Whatsapp. It is enough to click on the incoming link to access the keys.
Apple Home App Update
In the redesigned Home application, many features such as fast switching between smart accessories, the ability to add and control smart accessories as widgets on the lock screen, categorization and easy access to cameras are waiting for users.
Health and Fitness App Enhancements
In the health application, drug tracking has become much more detailed. In addition, health information can be shared with family members and doctors with the permission of the user. The fitness app is now available on iPhone even if you don’t have an Apple Watch. iPhone’s motion sensors help you analyze your daily fitness data.
With the elaborate Family Sharing feature, parents can control what their children can and cannot access on their phones. The movies and books that children can access, including age restrictions , can be restricted in the applications. In addition, the screen time request for applications that are not accessible can be sent as a direct message via Family Sharing .
Next Generation CarPlay
Re-updated in accordance with the developing vehicle technology , CarPlay comes with a special design depending on the screen features of the vehicle. Each vehicle’s CarPlay experience looks different from each other. In addition , it is now possible to make various customizations on the new generation CarPlay .
