A new report from Taiwan says that Apple has told its suppliers to increase production of the first iPhone 14 by more than 5% from 90 million units to 95 million units . In contrast, leading iPhone maker Foxconn is said to have significantly increased the recruiting bonus for iPhone employees.

“The smartphone market may be stagnant, but Apple is still breaking trends. Apple recently increased total initial orders for the iPhone 14 series to 95 million, an increase of about 5% above expectations.”

The report shows that this move is a result of both Apple’s optimism over demand for this year’s lineup and improvements in component availability. The report says a number of key Apple suppliers are talking about increased demand for their products during the peak iPhone production time .
