An upcoming Telegram update has been left “without explanation” for two weeks in Apple’s app review, according to a Telegram post by Telegram ‘s CEO and founder Pavel Durov .

It claims the update is “about to revolutionize how people express themselves in messaging ,” but that they’re slower than their competitors in bringing the feature to people, as Apple hasn’t approved it for two weeks.

Durov cited such unexplained issues as part of a broader critique of app store business models. He says Telegram has been discouraged by its “vague” app review process, which is “applied to all mobile apps by tech monopolies”.

Apple and Telegram Have Confronted Before

CEO Pavel Durov used the following statement on the subject:

“If Telegram, one of the 10 most popular apps in the world, is facing such a problem, you can only imagine the difficulties that smaller app developers go through.”

It is an unknown fact what exactly happens in the new update and how the revolution will take place . This is n’t the first time Durov has reproached Apple for their app review process . In 2018, Durov said that after Russia banned Telegram, Apple blocked updates to the Telegram iOS app. A day after Durov shared on the subject, Apple approved the update.

Telegram recently rolled out a Premium subscription of £94.99 per month, which gives users access to larger uploads, faster downloads, voice-to-text transcription, unique emoji responses and more.
