As part of Snap ‘s child-safety efforts, Snapchat on Tuesday is launching a new auditing tool for the company on how parents and teens interact in the real world .
Snapchat’s new ‘Family Hub’ will let parents keep track of who their teens are messaging on the app without finding out what they’re saying to each other
Both the guardian and the child must accept the Family Center invitation for the surveillance tools to take effect. Once invitations are accepted, a guardian can view their child’s full friend list and list of accounts they’ve interacted with in the past seven days and report accounts to Snap’s Trust and Security Team.

“Our goal was to create a set of tools designed to reflect the dynamics of real-world relationships and foster collaboration and trust between parents and teens ,” Snap wrote in its blog post Tuesday . said.
Snap plans to roll out new Family Center features in the next few weeks, including tools that allow parents to see new friends their kids have added and additional content controls .
