New information has emerged about the production location of the iPhone 14 series , which is planned to be released in the autumn of this year . Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that some of Apple’s new iPhone 14 series will be produced “simultaneously in two countries” for the first time, with regular suppliers in India and China .
Shortly after reporting that Apple is diversifying its production with both more companies and more countries, Kuo says the first tangible sign of that will be with the standard iPhone 14.
Apple’s Market Share Reaches Incredible Levels in India
In other tweets, Kuo said that in the short term, “India’s iPhone stocks/shipments still have a significant margin with China” but notes that there are “significant talks between a non-Chinese iPhone manufacturing company for Apple”. In this way, he hints that Apple is trying to reduce the geopolitical effects on supply and sees the Indian market as the next major growth driver.
Kuo says his report comes from his “latest survey” of supply chains. He also repeatedly refers to India producing the “6.1-inch iPhone 14”. That’s because Apple is expected to add a second model, a 6.7-inch “iPhone Max”, to non-Pro iPhones.
A recent report states that the tech giant sold more than 1.2 million iPhones in India in the second quarter of this year , with a massive 94% year-on-year growth.
