The new Final Fantasy XIV update ‘Buried Memory’ release date has been announced with a new trailer. Patch 6.2 will launch on August 23 and will add the “Island Sanctuary” system to the game.

The new update will continue the game’s main quest chain, as well as the side quest series “Tataru’s Grand Endavour”. The new dungeon will be “Fell Court of Troia”, while the new eight-player raid “Pandæmonium: Abyssos” will teleport players to the Lahabrian dungeon.

Buried MemoryThe new casual player-oriented single player content added to the game with the update is “Island Sanctuary”. Players who will settle on the island of Idyll will be able to establish and maintain their own farms. Players will be able to gather various resources from around the island, construct different buildings and take various animals with them.

The game’s director, Naoki Yoshida, explained the Island Sanctuary system as follows:
 “You will have a factory you built yourself in this new island, a field to plant or animals to look after. You can also leave the island unattended and watch the weeds grow all over the place. The decision is entirely up to you.”

Island Sanctuary offers a quiet environment isolated from the rest of the game, which does not require any previous experience in crafting or similar areas.
