Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer attended the opening ceremony of the Erhan Afyoncu Library of Istanbul Atatürk Science High School in Kadıköy and made statements about important issues, including the new course that will be added to the curriculum next year .
Explaining that they continue to work on the curriculum and that they will add a new course called ‘Cultural History’ , Minister Özer said that they have taken these important steps to create an area where students will learn Cultural History better and enrich their culture.
Minister Özer said that the preparations are close to being completed and that they aim to add the Cultural History course to the curriculum with the completion of the necessary trainings on the basis of teachers, and made a series of statements about vocational high schools .
Cultural History is Added to the Curriculum as a New Course
“Where did vocational high schools come from? Students from the 1% success rate of academically successful students preferred vocational high schools. Production capacity increased, we started exporting. We took the most important step in vocational training centers. We will take another step. I am explaining this for the first time.
We have a course work on Cultural History. We are working on creating a new curriculum. We will take an important step to create an area that will unite every step we have taken, but first of all, starting with the school administration, where teachers will meet with Cultural History and become enriched. The preparations for this are about to end. After completing the trainings, I hope we will have added our Cultural History course to our curriculum.”
