A new interface development has been going on for a while for Gmail, one of Google’s successful services. Google finally opened this expected design for users, and new features coming to Gmail with the new design have been announced.

The company, which always keeps its platform up to date with updates just like the Google Maps service, has introduced its new design for Gmail. We can say that this new interface, which has been working since February, has similar points from the Material Design 3 design language owned by Google. The new design came with significant enhancements and improvements. Let’s see what this new design offers.

Here are the renewed Gmail interface and features

The first change made by Gmail is the zooming of the texts in the left menu. While there is no significant innovation by the listing of emails, the part that separates the blocks comes with rounded edges.

We see that the menu on the left side of Gmail, which we are used to, has been updated as toggleable. Users will now be able to change the opening and closing of the menu with the mouse when they close the menu. In this way, it will be possible to focus on the mailing list on the main screen. If you want to use the old design instead of the new design, press the Settings icon in the upper right area. From here you can revert to the old design by going to the “Revert to the original view” option.

Along with the update of the new design, Gmail searches are also improved. The company states in a blog it shares that it will offer intent matching based on names and email addresses, and offer personalized recommendations to users.
