Disney Plus revealed the first footage of its new broadcast series, National Treasure: Edge of History , at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con. Indeed, the publisher has released a trailer and behind-the-scenes teaser video featuring the newest treasure hunter.
Lisette Olivera plays Jess, a dreamer who sets out to find a lost Pan-American treasure. Meanwhile, Olivera stars Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano, Jordan Rodrigues, Jake Austin Walker, Lyndon Smith and Catherine Zeta-Jones .
Justin Bartha will guest star and reprise the role of Riley Poole . Let’s also say that Harvey Keitel will guest star in the series and will reprise the role of FBI Special Agent Peter Sadusky.
The series is based on the National Treasure film franchise starring Nicholas Cage as Benjamin Gates, the cunning treasure hunter who uncovers some of the world’s most valuable possessions . In the first movie, Gates discovered a map on the back of the Declaration of Independence that took him under the Trinity Church in New York City to one of the world’s greatest treasures. In the second movie, Gates used the Book of Secrets to prove his great-great-grandfather’s innocence and find the golden city on Mount Rushmore.
Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley , who wrote both films , return as writers for the series. The Wibberleys will serve as executive producers alongside the two producers of both films, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jon Turteltaub . Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Rick Muirragui and Mira Nair will also serve as executive producers and Nair will direct the series.
